Seattle Soccer Formation
Starting Lineup
STEFAN (FREI) · KALANI (KOSSA-RIENZI) · STUART (HAWKINS) · KEE-HEE (KIM) · RYAN (SAILOR) · SNYDER (BRUNELL) · NIKOLA (PETKOVIC) · CADEN (CLARK) · JORDAN (MORRIS) · PAUL (ROTHROCK) · DANNY (MUSOVSKI)Seattle focuses on a high press and verticality through a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win it back high up the pitch and quickly move the ball toward the goal. By utilizing wide attackers and a central presence, Seattle aims to stretch the opposition and create chances through rapid transitions and direct play.
Stefan stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four where Ryan and Kalani play as full backs to provide width. Ryan acts as the left back while Kalani covers the right side. In the center, Kee-Hee and Stuart form the defensive pairing, with Stuart acting as the dominant presence in the air and Kee-Hee providing cover to sweep behind the line. The unit works together to squeeze the space and keep the team compact when the opponent has the ball.
The midfield relies on a three-man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. Nikola and Snyder operate in the central areas to control the tempo and link the defense to the attack. Snyder works to shield the defense and recycle possession, while Nikola drives forward with the ball to break the line. Caden plays as the attacking ten in the hole, looking to find space between the lines and arrive late into the box. This trio works to compress the midfield and ensure Seattle can transition quickly from a mid-block to an attacking position.
Seattle utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Danny acts as the lone striker and holds up the ball to allow others to join the attack. On the flanks, Paul and Jordan function as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. Paul occupies the left wing while Jordan operates on the right, both looking to isolate the opposition wide players in one on one situations. The front three work together to press from the front and force a long ball from the opposition.
One major advantage for Seattle is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, which puts immediate pressure on the opposition build up. The team also benefits from wide overloads when Kalani or Ryan overlap the winger to provide extra passing options. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the connection between the midfield trio and the front three allows the team to hit in behind on the transition before the opponent can recover.
This 4-3-3 formation is designed for a team that wants to dominate through high intensity and quick vertical movements. It is best suited for matches against opponents that struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
