LA Galaxy aims to dominate through high pressing and quick transitions, utilizing a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the ball high up the pitch and spreading the play to stretch the defence. The team looks to control the tempo by playing through the thirds and using wide areas to create chances.

JT operates between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit sits in a high line with a flat back four to squeeze the space. JAKOB and JUSTIN act as the central defenders, where JAKOB provides aerial strength and JUSTIN works to cover space behind the high line. The full backs, HARBOR and JOHN, play as attacking wing backs to provide width, while the central pair stays compact to deny the turn to any oncoming attackers.

The midfield operates with a three-man midfield with a carrier to link the lines. PABLO and ISAIAH sit in the deeper roles to shield the defence and recycle possession, while MARCO plays as an attacking ten behind the striker. ISAIAH and PABLO work to win the second ball and press in a mid-block if the high press is bypassed. MARCO is tasked to find the feet of the striker and arrive late into the box to support the attack.

LA Galaxy uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. KYOGO plays as a pressing centre-forward, working to disrupt the opposition build up from the back. On the flanks, ERIK and ROBERT act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create room for the full backs. This movement allows for many combinations, such as ERIK cutting inside to allow JOHN to overlap the winger, or KYOGO holding up the ball to lay it off to the advancing runners.

A primary strength for LA Galaxy is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, forcing a long ball from the opposition. The presence of MARCO in the hole creates numerical superiority in the attacking third. Additionally, the overlapping runs from HARBOR and JOHN create wide overloads that force the opposition to shift and leave gaps in the middle.

This formation relies on intense pressing and rapid movement to break down opponents. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
