This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and hit the opponent quickly in transition. The aim is to overwhelm the defensive line by committing many players forward into the final third.

Stefan stands between the posts to act as the last line of defense. The back four operates in a flat line, where Jake and Emir handle the wide duties. Jake acts as a traditional full back to provide width, while Emir is tasked with tracking the opposition wingers. In the center, Moisés and Or form the defensive pairing, with Moisés often looking to win the second ball and Or providing cover to maintain a high line. The unit works to squeeze the space between the defense and midfield to prevent easy play through the lines.

The midfield operates as a double pivot to provide a base for the attack. Lasse Berg and Owen are responsible for controlling the middle area and shielding the back four. Lasse Berg works to intercept passes and recycle possession, while Owen tries to carry the ball forward to connect the defensive unit with the front four. They must remain disciplined to avoid being bypassed, especially when the team pushes high. Their main role is to win the ball and immediately look for the forwards.

The attack is heavy with four players looking to penetrate the defensive line. Calvin and André operate as wide attackers, with Calvin staying wide to pull defenders apart and André looking to cut inside to create chances. In the center, Stephen and Taylor work as a partnership of two forwards. They act as a pressing centre-forward duo to force the opposition into mistakes. The movement is designed to create runs in behind and allow the wingers to deliver crosses or cutbacks into the box.

Sporting KC gains a major advantage through wide overloads when the full backs push up to support the wingers. The high press from Stephen and Taylor can also trigger a press in waves, catching opponents during their build up. This formation allows for great speed of transition once the double pivot recovers the ball.
