Houston focuses on high pressing and quick transitions using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup aims to win the ball high up the pitch and move the ball forward with pace to catch the opposition out of position. BLAKE operates between the posts to start the build up from the back. The defensive unit sits in a flat back four with DUANE and FRANCO acting as full backs. DUANE stays wide to provide width while FRANCO is tasked to balance the defensive line. In the center, REESE and AGUSTÍN function as the central pairing, where REESE covers space behind the line and AGUSTÍN maintains a strong presence to win the second ball. They work to keep a compact line and deny the turn to any oncoming attackers.

A three man midfield connects the defensive unit to the attack. DIADIÉ plays as the left sided carrier, driving the ball forward to progress through the thirds. AGUSTÍN occupies the right side of the midfield to help shield the defense and recycle possession. MATTHEW operates as the attacking ten, playing in the pockets between the opposition midfield and defense to create chances. This midfield trio works to squeeze the space and press in a mid block when the ball is lost.

The attacking trio uses wide wingers and a central striker to stretch the defense. LAWRENCE and NICK act as inverted wingers, cutting inside to create overloads in the half spaces and allow the full backs to push up. NICK looks to isolate defenders one on one while LAWRENCE seeks to play through the lines with quick passes. DUNCAN leads the line as a pressing centre forward, working to pin the last defender and hold up the ball for the incoming runners. They use combinations to move the ball toward the box and deliver early crosses.

Houston offers significant advantages through their ability to press in coordinated waves. By using MATTHEW and the front three to trigger a press, they can win the ball high up the pitch. Another strength is the width provided by DUANE and FRANCO, which allows the team to spread wide and create passing lanes for the midfielders. This setup forces the opposition to defend across the entire width of the pitch.
