Hoffmann · Fridrikas · Radulovic · Drew · Lukic · Markus · Komposch · Spendlhofer · Pfeifer · Pazourek · Pecsi

TSV Hartberg aims to play a vertical style of football that relies on quick transitions and heavy pressure in the middle of the pitch. The team utilizes a 2-5-3 formation to overwhelm opponents in central areas. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move it toward the goal with as few passes as possible.

Pecsi acts as the last line of defense in goal. The defensive unit operates with a narrow back two consisting of Komposch and Spendlhofer. These two central defenders must be ready to cover large amounts of ground and step up to engage attackers before they turn. Because the formation uses only two central defenders, they must remain compact and communicate constantly to handle long balls or runners in behind.

The midfield is the engine room of the TSV Hartberg system, operating with a five man unit. Pfeifer and Pazourek form a double pivot to shield the defense and win second balls. Lukic and Markus occupy the central channels to drive forward with the ball and connect the defensive and attacking lines. Fridrikas plays as an attacking ten, sitting in the hole to create chances and arrive late into the box. This heavy midfield presence allows the team to dominate the center and recycle possession quickly.

In the attacking third, the team employs three attackers to stretch the opposition. Hoffmann leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, working to pin the last defender and find the feet of his teammates. On the flanks, Drew and Radulovic act as wide wingers who look to cut inside and create goalscoring opportunities. These three players work in combinations to attack the spaces between the opposition full backs and center backs.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create numerical superiority in the middle of the park. The five players in the midfield can easily overload many standard four man units. Additionally, the team can press in coordinated waves, using the front three and the attacking midfielder to trigger a press that forces mistakes from the opposition.

This lineup is designed for a high intensity game where winning the ball back high up the pitch is the priority. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
