Punjab FC Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Moosa · Chingkhei · Sailex · Tony · Punshiba (Rokash) · Mahesh (Samte) · Chetan T. · Yohenba · Raj · Azam (K. Chetan) · Ranjan (Kh. Yoihenba)Punjab FC aims to control the game through a high press and quick transitions, utilizing a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to squeeze the space in the opposition half and force errors high up the pitch. By using three central defenders and a busy midfield, the team looks to win the ball back quickly and spread wide to stretch the defence.
Ranjan stays behind a back three to act as the last line of defence. Chingkhei sits in the center of the defensive line to command the area and win the header when crosses come in. Sailex plays as the right center back to cover the wide area, while Moosa occupies the left center back spot to provide cover and intercept passes. This back three acts as a solid block that can shift side to side to deny the turn of any attacking player.
The midfield operates with a heavy presence to control the center of the park. Tony sits in the single pivot role to shield the defence and recycle possession when the team builds from the back. Punshiba and Mahesh work as two central midfielders who drive forward with the ball and help to compress the midfield. Azam plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to find the feet of the attackers and play through the lines with clever passing.
In the final third, Punjab FC uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Yohenba acts as the central striker to hold up the ball and engage the opposition center backs. On the flanks, Raj and Chetan T. act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to provide width. These wingers look to cut inside or get to the byline to deliver early crosses for Yohenba to attack at the near post or far post.
A major strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win it back high up the pitch. The combination of Azam pushing forward and the front three pressing from the front makes it very difficult for opponents to play out from the back. Furthermore, the presence of three central midfielders allows for numerical superiority in the middle, helping the team to control the tempo of the match.
This 3-4-3 formation is designed to dominate games through aggressive pressing and wide attacking movements. It is best suited for facing teams that struggle to play under pressure and leave gaps in the channels.
