The midfield is a three man midfield with a carrier and creative elements. Aleksandar works as the left midfielder, looking to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Pascal plays as the right midfielder to drive forward with the ball and win the second ball. Serge plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to find space between the lines. This trio works to compress the midfield and ensure the team can transition quickly from a defensive block to an attacking phase.

In the attacking phase, Germany uses three attackers across the front. Deniz acts as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition back line. On the flanks, Lennart and Kevin operate as wide wingers who hug the touchline to stretch the defence. Lennart and Kevin look to cut inside to create scoring chances or deliver crosses. The forwards press from the front to trigger a press, often looking for runs in behind or link up play between the lines to break the opposition defense.
