Starting Lineup

Levski looks to play a direct and aggressive style of football using a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup is built to sit deep in a low block before hitting the opposition with rapid transitions. The team aims to absorb pressure and use the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition once the ball is won back.

In goal, Kolio acts as the last line of defense. The defensive unit functions as a back five with ToniKros acting as the central anchor to command the area. Sasho plays as the right centre-back to provide cover, while Moni operates as the left centre-back. The wide defenders, Viksa as the right wing back and July as the left wing back, are tasked with providing width and tracking back to maintain a narrow defensive block when the team loses possession. This defensive unit works together to deny space in central areas and force the play wide.

The midfield consists of a two-man central pairing. Krasi and Kris operate as the two central midfielders, tasked with controlling the middle of the pitch. Krasi works to shield the defense and win the second ball, while Kris looks to carry the ball forward and connect the defense to the attacking line. These two must remain compact to prevent the opposition from playing through the lines. They serve as the engine room for Levski, recycling possession and looking to find the attackers quickly.

The attack features three players across the front. Toni Z leads the line as a lone striker, looking to hold up the ball and find teammates. On the flanks, Gubata operates as a left winger and Denkata plays as a right winger. Both Gubata and Denkata are expected to hug the touchline to provide width, but they can also cut inside to create threats. The forwards press from the front to force long balls and create opportunities for the wing backs to overlap. This front line relies on quick combinations and runs in behind to catch the opposition out of position.

Levski gains a major advantage through the ability to hit in behind on the transition with the speed of the front three. The formation also provides great compactness when defending deep, making it very difficult for opponents to find gaps between the lines. The wing backs, Viksa and July, create wide overloads that allow the team to switch play effectively once they win the ball.

This formation is designed for a team that wants to be defensively solid and lethal on the break. It is best suited for facing dominant sides that push high up the pitch and leave space behind their defense.
