The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier. Zito and Didi sit in the central areas to shield the defence and disrupt play. Zito works to intercept passes and recycle possession to the wider areas. Alfredo operates in the hole as an attacking ten behind the strikers, looking to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Alfredo is responsible to find the feet of the striker or carry the ball forward into the final third to spark a transition.

Albania utilizes two forwards in a partnership to lead the attack. Sanchez and Spencer work together to press the opposition back line and make runs in behind. Sanchez often holds up the ball to allow Spencer to move into space. The team attacks in transition, looking to hit the opponent quickly once the ball is won in midfield. The wing backs, Rodriguez and Eyzaguirre, provide much needed width by pushing high to deliver crosses into the box.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for Albania. The five man back line provides extreme compactness when defending, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the lines. The team can also create wide overloads when Rodriguez and Eyzaguirre push forward simultaneously. This allows the forwards to stay central and pin the last defender, creating space for late runs from the midfield.
