Slovenia utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defence. Zan and Benjamin operate as a mobile duo, with Zan often making runs in behind to exploit gaps. Benjamin acts as a pressing centre-forward to bother the opposition back line, while both players look to combine in tight spaces near the penalty area. The formation relies on Jure and Zan to deliver early crosses or cut it back from the byline to catch the defenders out of position.

A major advantage for Slovenia is the compactness when defending, making it very difficult for opponents to find passing lanes through the center. The presence of Jaka and Vanja ensures the team is strong in aerial duels during set pieces and crosses. Additionally, the speed of transition allows the team to move from a low block to a vertical attack in seconds, using the width provided by the wing backs to stretch the opposition.
