Danilo acts as an attacking full back to provide width, while A.Sandro can tuck inside or overlap to help the midfield. The defensive unit must move as one to avoid being caught out during transitions.

A double pivot controls the center of the pitch for Flamengo. Jorginho works as a deep lying playmaker, using his passing range to recycle possession and find the forwards. Beside him, Saúl acts as the carrier to drive forward with the ball and connect the defense to the attack. This pair must be disciplined to protect the center when the full backs push up. They are responsible for intercepting passes and ensuring the team can build out from the back under pressure.

The attacking line is designed to stretch the defense wide and deep. N.Cruz and Plata operate as wide wingers, with Plata looking to cut inside and N.Cruz to stay wide and whip it in. Paquetá plays as a second striker in the hole, looking to receive on the half turn and play through the lines. Pedro acts as the main target man, looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. This front four works to pin the last defender and create many one on one situations.

This lineup offers significant attacking threat through its ability to create wide overloads. The coordination of the four attackers allows Flamengo to press in pairs from the front, forcing long balls from the opposition. Additionally, the speed of transition when Jorginho or Saúl win the ball allows the team to hit in behind on the transition before the opponent can set the offside trap.
