The team aims to win the ball back high up the pitch and quickly launch attacks to catch the opposition out of position. This system provides a strong base to absorb pressure before breaking quickly through wide areas or central combinations.

MAIER operates between the posts to secure the goal. The defensive unit sits in a compact back five, with ROSSI and ČAJKOVSKI acting as the central pillars to defend zonally and win headers. SHESTERNYOV provides additional cover to ensure the line remains tight. On the flanks, STANKOVSKI and NOVAK function as attacking wing backs, tasked with providing width and stretching the defence. They must track back quickly to form a narrow defensive block when the team loses possession.

The midfield operates as a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. OVERATH and STRELTSOV sit in front of the back five to shield the defence and win the second ball. STRELTSOV works to intercept passes, while OVERATH looks to carry the ball forward to link the defensive and attacking lines.
