Czechia National Football Team Formation
Starting Lineup
KINSKÝ · KRIČFALUŠI · CHALOUPEK · KREJČÍ · SÁČEK · SADÍLEK · AMBROS · ZMRZLÝ · KARABEC · HLOŽEK · ŠULCCzechia looks to control games through a direct and vertical style of play using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup relies on quick transitions and wide presence to stretch the opposition. The goal is to use the width of the pitch to create chances while maintaining enough presence in the middle to regain the ball quickly.
Kinský sits between the posts to organize the back line. A back three consists of Chaloupka, Křičfaluš, and Krejčí who must remain compact to defend the central areas. Křičfaluš and Krejčí act as the side centre-backs to cover the wide spaces when the midfielders push up. Chaloupka stays central to act as a ball playing defender who can start attacks. The unit works together to hold a high line and squeeze the space between the defense and the midfield.
The midfield functions as a central engine room with a two man block in the middle. Ambros and Sadílek operate as the central pairing to win the second ball and connect the defense to the attack. Ambros drives forward with the ball while Sadílek helps to shield the defense and recycle possession. Zmrlý and Sáček play as wide midfielders who provide the necessary width. They must track back to support the defenders and help form a mid-block when Czechia does not have the ball.
The attacking unit employs three attackers across the front. Hložek acts as the lone striker and focuses on link-up play between the lines to bring others into the game. On the wings, Karabec and Šulc act as inverted wingers who look to cut inside and create goal scoring opportunities. This movement creates space for Zmrlý and Sáček to overlap the wingers and deliver crosses. The front three press from the front to force a long ball and disrupt the opposition build up.
Czechia can use this formation to create wide overloads when the wingers and wide midfielders combine. The ability to press high in coordinated waves allows the team to win the ball back in dangerous areas. This setup also offers speed of transition to catch opponents out of position.
This 3-4-3 formation focuses on high intensity and wide attacking movements. It is best suited for matches against teams that play with a high defensive line and can be exploited through quick transitions.
