Juventus focuses on a heavy vertical presence and aggressive attacking intent using a 4-2-4. The lineup is designed to stretch the opposition defense and overwhelm them in the final third with high numbers. This formation seeks to win the ball high up the pitch and strike quickly through the forward line.

Vally sits between the posts to command the area. A flat back four provides the foundation for the defensive unit with 2 acting as the right back and 3 occupying the left back position. They are tasked to provide width and overlap the wingers when the team has the ball. In the middle, 4 and 5 work as the central defenders to hold the line and protect the space behind. These two must be ready to step up to set the offside trap or drop to cover runs in behind.

The midfield functions as a double pivot consisting of 13 and 18. These two players act as the engine room, tasked with shielding the defense and recycling possession. 18 and 13 must be able to win the second ball and quickly distribute it to the attackers. They connect the defensive line to the front four by playing through the lines. When the team is under pressure, they must drop deep to provide a layer of protection in front of the back four.

The attacking unit is highly aggressive with three attackers across the front and two center forwards. 10 and 11 operate as wide wingers, looking to cut inside or get to the byline to deliver crosses. 17 and 9 operate as a strike partnership, either playing as a target man or making runs in behind. This front four is instructed to press from the front, forcing the opposition to play long balls. The goal is to create isolation in one on one situations for the wingers or to combine in tight spaces near the box.

Juventus gains significant advantages through their ability to create wide overloads and overwhelm the opponent's backline. Having four dedicated attackers allows the team to pin the last defender and stretch the opposition horizontally. The double pivot in midfield offers a level of compactness when defending in a mid block, making it hard for opponents to play through the center. This setup also enables a very fast transition once the ball is recovered.

This 4-2-4 formation is built for teams that want to dominate through offensive pressure and high intensity. It is best suited for matches where the opponent plays a high line and can be punished with direct runs and wide play.
