Starting Lineup

C Gonzales · Romeny · Marselino · Boaz · Diks · Pelupessy · Verdonk · Idzes · Hubner · James · Audero

Persib looks to dominate through a vertical and high pressing style using a 4-2-4. This lineup aims to pin the opposition back and strike quickly in transition by flooding the final third. The formation is built to stretch the defence and create chaos in the opponent's defensive line through constant movement and high intensity.

Audero starts in goal to command the area and manage the high line. The back four functions as a flat back four where James operates as a full back to support the flank. Verdonk plays on the opposite side to provide width. In the center, Idzes acts as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back while Hubner provides cover and uses his strength to win the second ball. The unit moves together to squeeze the space and maintain a high defensive line.

The midfield consists of a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. Pelupessy works to shield the defence and break up play while Diks drives forward with the ball to link the lines. These two players must be disciplined to prevent being bypassed during transitions. They act as the engine to recycle possession and ensure the team does not get caught out when the attackers push high.

Persib utilizes four attackers to overwhelm the opposition. Romeny and C Gonzales work as a central partnership, with one often acting as a target man to hold up the ball and the other making runs in behind. Boaz and Marselino provide extreme width as wide wingers. Boaz is known for his dribbling style and ability to cut inside, while Marselino looks to find the feet of the striker or deliver crosses. This front line is designed to pin the last defender and create many one on one situations.

One major advantage for Persib is the numerical superiority in the attacking third which can overwhelm a standard back four. The team also benefits from the speed of transition when the double pivot wins the ball and immediately finds the front four. By spreading wide with Boaz and Marselino, they stretch the defence and create gaps for the central strikers to exploit.

This 4-2-4 formation is built for aggressive, high tempo football. It is best suited for games where Persib needs to chase a result against a team that sits deep.
