Starting Lineup

TARNO · LABONE · PADURARIU · MUHAR · ARAD · DAWA · DUARTE · MICULESCU · KORENICA · DRAGUS · CISOTTI

FCSB focuses on a vertical style of play through a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup aims to move the ball quickly from defense to the attacking third to catch the opposition out of position. The team seeks to win the ball high up the pitch and use rapid transitions to create scoring chances.

TARNO acts as the last line of defense in goal. The defensive unit operates with a flat back four, where LABONE and PADURARIU act as full backs to provide width. DAWA and DUARTE form the central pair, with DAWA often playing as a ball playing defender to help build play. The back line works to keep the distance between players small and holds a high line to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch.

The midfield relies on a three man midfield with a carrier to control the tempo. ARAD and MUHAR work to occupy the central zones, with ARAD often tasked to drive forward with the ball to break the line. CISOTTI plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space between the lines. This unit connects the defense to the attack by recycling possession and looking for the pass to split the defence with a through ball.

FCSB utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the opposition. KORENICA and MICULESCU act as wide wingers who look to cut inside and threaten the goal, while DRAGUS operates as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the opponent. The wingers aim to isolate a one on one wide or make runs in behind the defensive line. When the team attacks, the full backs look to overlap the winger to create overloads on the flanks.

One major advantage for FCSB is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win the ball back quickly. The closeness of the players in the midfield and attack allows them to press in pairs and force a long ball from the opponent. Another strength is the speed of transition when the team wins possession, allowing them to hit in behind on the transition before the opposition can recover.

This 4-3-3 formation provides FCSB with a direct and aggressive way to play. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high line or struggle to defend against rapid counter attacks.
