Torreense plays a direct and aggressive brand of football using a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to attack the opposition by pushing numbers high up the pitch and looking to hit in behind on the transition. The focus is on verticality and quick movement to catch the defense off guard before they can get organized.

The defensive unit starts with 75 between the posts to command the area. A flat back four protects the goal, with 66 acting as the right back and 76 operating as the left back. The central defenders, 67 and 73, must work together to hold the line and win the second ball. While 76 can push up to provide width, 67 and 73 must stay compact to defend against through balls and cover the space left behind when the team pushes forward.

In the middle of the pitch, Torreense utilizes a double pivot to connect the defense and attack. Both 70 and 71 work as the engine room, tasked with shielding the defense and recycling possession when needed. The role of these two midfielders is to win the ball and immediately look to play through the lines. They must be disciplined to avoid leaving the back four exposed, especially when the forwards press high up the pitch.

The attacking force is heavy with four players positioned across the front. 72 and 75 operate as wide wingers, with 72 on the right and 75 on the left. These players are expected to stretch the defense by staying wide or cutting inside to create chaos. In the center, 74 and 70 act as a partnership of two forwards. One might act as a target man to hold up the ball, while the other looks to make runs in behind to exploit the gaps.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for the opponent to build from the back. The presence of four attackers creates constant pressure on the opposition back line. Additionally, Torreense can create quick transitions by using the width provided by 72 and 75 to quickly switch play and isolate defenders in one on one situations.

This 4-2-4 formation is designed for a high risk, high reward style of play that prioritizes attacking intent. It is best suited for games where Torreense needs to break down a deep block or when facing an opponent that struggles with rapid transitions.
