Persipura Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Fahmi · Akbar · Basir · Sadar · Faid · Husin · Aldi · Al · Wahyu · Amad · AlghiPersipura focuses on a high press and quick transitions, utilizing a 4-3-3 formation to squeeze the pitch. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and use verticality to catch opponents out of position. The aim is to control the tempo by pressing in waves and looking to break the line through direct passing.
Fahmi operates between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line works as a flat back four where Amad and Aldi act as full backs to provide width. Akbar and Alghi occupy the central roles, focusing on holding the line and winning the second ball. Akbar and Alghi must stay compact to prevent through balls, while Amad and Aldi need to track back quickly to cover the space behind them when the team pushes forward.
In the middle of the pitch, Persipura uses a three-man midfield with a single pivot. Husin sits in the defensive hole to shield the defense and intercept passes. Ahead of him, Al and Wahyu function as inverted eights who drive forward with the ball and connect the defensive and attacking lines. Al and Wahyu are tasked to press aggressively to win the ball in the middle third and help recycle possession when the team needs to settle.
The attacking trident features three attackers across the front to stretch the opposition. Sadar and Faid act as wide wingers who look to cut inside and create chances in the half spaces. Basir operates as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and pin the last defender to create space for others. Sadar and Faid push high to press the opposition back line, while the movement of the wingers creates opportunities for Basir to find the feet of the striker or for late runs into the box.
One major advantage for Persipura is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opposition. The team also benefits from the speed of transition when the midfield trio regains possession. By using the width provided by the wingers and the full backs, the lineup can often isolate wide players in one on one situations to break down a deep block.
This 4-3-3 formation is designed for a team that wants to dominate through aggressive pressing and rapid attacks. It is best suited for matches against opponents who struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
