Standard focuses on a heavy high press and rapid vertical transitions through a 3-4-3 formation. The lineup is built to squeeze the space high up the pitch and win the ball back quickly to catch opponents out of position. This system aims to dominate the final third by creating constant pressure on the opposition defense through aggressive movements.

The defensive unit is led by 80 in goal to provide stability during transitions. A back three consists of 78 acting as the central anchor while 77 and 77 operate as the left and right wide centre-backs. These wide defenders are expected to cover the space behind the midfield and step up to intercept passes. The unit functions as a compact block that can shift side to side to close down passing lanes and protect the center of the box.

Standard utilizes a crowded midfield to control the center of the pitch. A three-man midfield featuring 75, 77, and 77 provides a platform to recycle possession and shield the defense. The 75 role allows for controlling the tempo and sitting deeper to provide cover, while the 77 and 77 players act as carriers to drive the ball forward. Higher up, the 76 operates as an attacking ten to link the midfield and the front line, making late runs into the box to exploit gaps in the defense.

The attack relies on three attackers to stretch the opposition. The lone 76 functions as a pressing centre-forward to lead the hunt from the front and pin the last defender. On the flanks, 80 plays as a right winger to provide width and threat, while 75 operates as a left winger. These wide players are tasked to cut inside or get to the byline to deliver crosses. This formation creates many one on one situations and allows the front three to combine in tight spaces to break the lines.

A major tactical strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force long balls from the opposition. The midfield setup provides numerical superiority in the central areas to win the second ball. Standard can also use the wide attackers and the central ten to create wide overloads, forcing the opponent to choose between covering the middle or the flanks.

This 3-4-3 formation is built for aggressive teams that want to win the ball high up the pitch. It is best suited for matches against opponents who struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
