Starting Lineup

Jp (Nathan Dylan) · Brody (Jeevan Hendrix) · Ben · Taylor (Dan) · Logan · Oscar (Reece) · Jonah (George D) · Louie · Kian · Jace (Archie) · Jacob C

Wolves aim to play a high press with a vertical style of football in a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the ball high up the pitch and moving the play forward quickly to catch the opposition out of position. By using a compact unit, the team seeks to control the tempo and create chances through direct movement and rapid transitions.

Jacob C plays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates as a back three consisting of Jace as the central defender, flanked by Kian on the left and Louie on the right. Jace acts as the primary cover to sweep up any long balls, while Kian and Louie hold the line to prevent runs in behind. The defense works to squeeze the space between the lines and keeps the unit tight to support the midfield during the press.

The midfield consists of a three-man midfield with a carrier to progress the play. Jonah operates in the central area to link the defense to the attack, while Oscar and Logan occupy the left and right central spaces to control the middle. Taylor plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to find pockets of space. Oscar and Logan work to win the second ball and provide stability, while Taylor pushes forward to link with the front three and make late runs into the box.

Wolves utilize three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Ben operates as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and harass the opposition build up. Jp and Brody play as wide wingers who stay wide to create width. Jp cuts inside from the left to create central overloads, whereas Brody looks to drive forward and deliver crosses. This front three works to press the opposition back line in unison to force mistakes.

This formation offers specific tactical advantages, including the ability to press high in coordinated waves with the front three and the midfield. Wolves can create numerical superiority in the central areas when Taylor joins the midfield battle. The presence of three defenders provides a solid base to defend against counter attacks while allowing the wide players to push high.

The 3-4-3 formation provides Wolves with a heavy pressing presence and rapid verticality. This lineup is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under pressure.
