Starting Lineup

Freddie · Ollie · Jo · George · Alfie · Oscar · Liam · Noah · Kelly · Gilly · Jacob C

Wolves focus on a vertical style of play that relies on quick transitions and high intensity. The team operates in a 3-4-3 formation that looks to win the ball high up the pitch and strike immediately. This lineup is built to overwhelm the opposition through central combinations and wide attacks.

Jacob C starts in goal to organize the back line. The defense operates as a back three with Gilly acting as the central defender to hold the line. Noah plays as the right centre-back to cover space while Kelly occupies the left centre-back role. This trio must stay compact to deny the turn to opposition attackers and ensure the unit moves together to defend zonally.

The midfield features a three-man midfield with a carrier to progress through the thirds. Oscar acts as the anchor to shield the defence, while Alfie and Liam work to win the second ball and transition play. George plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to create chances in tight spaces. This midfield group must press aggressively to win it back high up the pitch and connect the defensive block to the front line.

Wolves employ three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Freddie plays as an inverted winger on the left to cut inside and create overloads, while Ollie stays wide on the right to pull defenders out of position. Jo operates as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and find the feet of the striker during link-up play. The front three aim to hit in behind on the transition to catch the opposition out of position.

One major advantage for Wolves is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opponent. The formation also allows for wide overloads when the midfielders push up to support the wingers. This creates many one on one situations for Ollie and Freddie to exploit.

This 3-4-3 formation is a high intensity lineup designed to punish teams that play a high line. Wolves are best suited for matches against opponents who struggle to handle quick vertical transitions.
