A high press and vertical style of play defines this team and they operate in a 4-2-4. This formation is built to pin the opposition back and hit them quickly with numbers in the final third. The lineup aims to win the ball high up the pitch and transition into attack with maximum speed.
Gavrilas starts in goal to organize the back line. The defensive unit functions as a flat back four with Martac playing as the right back to provide width. Erico and Pojar (2006) act as the central defenders, where Erico focuses on covering while Pojar (2006) works to win the header and clear the lines. Neacșu plays as the left back, tasked to defend the flank and occasionally push up to support the play.
The midfield utilizes a double pivot to manage the central area. Irimia and Banu sit in front of the defense to shield the back four and intercept passes. Banu works to recycle possession, while Irimia tries to carry the ball forward to connect the defensive and attacking lines. These two must work hard to cover the space left behind when the attackers press, ensuring they do not get bypassed too easily in the middle.
The attacking force consists of four players designed to stretch the defense. Ndon and Nsang operate as wide wingers, with Ndon on the left and Nsang on the right, both looking to cut inside or get to the byline to deliver a cross. Oancea (2008) and Purece work as a partnership in the center as two forwards. They aim to find the feet of the striker and make runs in behind the opposition defense. This front four will press from the front to force a long ball from the opponent.
One major strength of this lineup is the ability to create wide overloads when the wingers and full backs combine. Another advantage is the speed of transition, as the team can commit many players forward immediately after winning the ball. This creates a heavy presence in the box that makes it difficult for the opposition to defend.
This 4-2-4 formation is built for aggressive teams that want to dominate the final third through constant pressure. It is best suited for matches against opponents who struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
