SK Rapid relies on a high press and quick transitions to dominate matches through a 4-3-3 formation. The lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and push the opposition back into their own half. By using a high defensive line, SK Rapid aims to squeeze the space and force mistakes from the opponent.

In goal, 74 acts as the last line of defense. The back four consists of 76 as the right back and 73 as the left back, both of whom are tasked to push high and provide width. The central defenders, 75 on the right and 77 on the left, must be ready to step up to catch attackers offside or cover the space behind the full backs. This unit works together to maintain a high line and defend zonally to prevent through balls.

The midfield is composed of a three man midfield with a carrier and creative roles. The 76 sitting in the right central midfield role works to shield the defense and win the second ball, while 75 in the left central midfield role connects the defensive and attacking lines. Behind the striker, 76 plays as an attacking ten to find pockets of space between the lines. This midfield trio is responsible for recycling possession and pressing in a mid block when the first wave of pressure is broken.

The attack utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. 78 on the left wing is an inverted winger who looks to cut inside and shoot, while 76 on the right wing stays wide to deliver crosses. The striker, 76, plays as a pressing centre forward to harass the opposition center backs and hold up the ball for the oncoming midfielders. This front three focuses on making runs in behind to exploit gaps during transitions.

A major tactical advantage for SK Rapid is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to play out from the back. The wide overloads created when 73 and 78 combine on the flank allow the team to isolate wide players in one on one situations. This creates constant pressure on the opposition defensive unit.

This 4-3-3 formation is a high intensity system designed to control the tempo through aggressive pressing. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play under pressure or those that leave space behind their defensive line.
