Brann look to win the ball high up the pitch and play through the lines using a 3-4-3 formation. The team aims to press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. This lineup works to control the middle of the pitch while staying compact when defending.

The goalkeeper 73 stays behind a back three to sweep behind a high line when the team pushes up. Central defenders 73, 75, and 75 act as a zonal line to cover the width of the box. The central defender 75 is tasked to win the header and clear the lines during set pieces. The wide defenders 73 and 75 must be ready to step up and intercept passes to prevent the opponent from playing out from the back. This defensive unit works together to hold a compact shape.

In the middle of the pitch, Brann use a double pivot to protect the back three. The two defensive midfielders 75 and 74 shield the defence and try to win the second ball. To link the defensive and attacking lines, the players 76 and 74 act as two tens in the half-spaces. They are tasked to carry the ball forward and find the feet of the striker. This midfield setup allows the players to recycle possession and switch play to the wide areas.

The attack relies on three attackers working in combinations. The striker 77 acts as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and disrupt the build up. On the flanks, 75 and 71 act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create space. This movement allows the wide midfielders 76 and 74 to overlap the winger or drive into the channels. The goal is to create runs in behind or deliver early crosses to the striker in the box.

One major advantage for Brann is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to win the ball back quickly. The team can also use the wide areas to create overloads when the midfielders push high. Having two attacking midfielders behind the striker allows for numerical superiority in the central areas. This makes it difficult for opponents to defend the space between the lines.

This 3-4-3 formation focuses on high intensity pressing and rapid verticality. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play short from the back.
