Górzyński (26) · Safian (20) · Argalski (21) · Meler (18) · Sieczko (8) · Siryk (34) · Natucki (7) · Dobrowolski (11) · Pereira (17) · Mustafa (77) · Kwiatkowski (1)A focus on defensive solidity and rapid transitions defines this lineup in a 4-5-1. The team aims to sit deep and deny space in the middle before looking to hit the opponent on the break. This formation works to squeeze the space between the lines, forcing the opposition to play wide and then looking to win the second ball to launch attacks.
Kwiatkowski operates between the posts to command the penalty area. In front of him, the back four stays compact to maintain a narrow defensive block. Meler and Argalski act as the central pairing, with Meler focusing on his aerial strength and Argalski providing cover. The full backs, Sieczko and Safian, do not push too high, instead working to hold the line and prevent crosses. They often tuck in to help the centre backs when the team is under pressure, ensuring the opposition cannot find gaps in the central zone.
The midfield is built as a five man unit designed to control the central area. Pereira plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space between the lines. Siryk and Natucki form a double pivot to shield the defence and win possession. Siryk acts to intercept passes while Natucki looks to carry the ball forward into the half spaces. On the flanks, Górzyński and Dobrowolski provide width and track back to help the full backs. This group works together to compress the midfield and make it difficult for the opponent to play through the thirds.
In the attacking phase, Mustafa acts as a lone striker tasked with holding up the ball. He must fight for long balls and try to pin the last defender to create space for the runners. The team builds attacks by using the wide players, Górzyński and Dobrowolski, to stretch the defence. Pereira looks to play through the lines to find Mustafa or arrive late into the box. When the team wins the ball, they look to break quickly, using the distance between the midfield and the striker to catch the opposition out of position.
One major strength of this formation is the ability to remain compact when defending. By keeping the lines close together, the team makes it very hard for opponents to find passing lanes. Another advantage is the speed of transition once the midfield wins the ball. With Pereira ready to move forward, the team can quickly move from a low block to an attacking stance.
This 4-5-1 formation is built to frustrate teams that dominate possession. It is best suited for matches against heavy favourites where winning the second ball and defending in a compact unit is the priority.
