FCSB plays with a heavy intent for high pressing and quick transitions. This 4-3-3 formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and attack the opposition quickly. The lineup focuses on aggressive movement to squeeze the space in the opponent's half and keep the pressure high.
77 stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates with a flat back four where 76 (RB) and 73 (LB) act as attacking wing backs to provide width and support the attack. In the middle, 75 (RCB) and 76 (LCB) function as ball playing defenders who try to play out from the back to bypass the midfield. This unit works to hold the line and catch attackers offside when the team steps up into a high line.
The midfield works in a three man system with an attacking ten behind the striker. 75 (RCM) and 72 (LCM) sit deeper to shield the defense and win the second ball. 75 (RCM) often drops between the centre backs to receive and help build play from the deep. Meanwhile, 75 (AM) operates in the hole to connect the lines and arrive late into the box to score. The midfield aims to compress the space and prevent the opposition from playing through the lines.
FCSB utilizes three attackers to stretch the defense. 76 (RW) and 76 (LW) act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create space for the wide defenders. 75 (ST) works as a pressing centre forward to harass the opposition back line and force a long ball. This front line relies on combination play to pull wide defenders out of position and find runs in behind. They look to get to the byline and deliver early crosses to the center to find the striker.
This formation offers significant wide overloads through the movement of the wingers and full backs. The team creates numerical superiority in the attacking third by having 75 (AM) push high near the forwards. Another advantage is the ability to press in coordinated waves, making it difficult for the opponent to play short from the back or find time on the ball.
The 4-3-3 lineup is a high intensity system designed to dominate games through constant aggression. It is best suited for facing teams that struggle to play under pressure or those that defend in a low block.
