This formation is built to play with high intensity, using a crowded midfield to squeeze the space and force mistakes in the middle third.

Samu operates between the posts to organize the back line. Behind a high line, Mili acts as the central anchor, while Urti and Sebas function as wide centre-backs. Urti and Sebas must be ready to slide wide to cover the flanks when the wing backs push forward. The trio works to hold the line and ensure the offside trap is set correctly. This defensive unit stays compact to deny the turn to any attacking midfielders.

The midfield setup uses a three-man central block with Gorka operating as the attacking ten behind the strikers. Ibon and Ibai provide the engine, with Ibai looking to drive forward with the ball and Ibon working to shield the defence. To provide width, Aimar and Santi act as wide midfielders, pressing aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch. This midfield group connects the defensive unit to the forwards by playing through the lines and recycling possession when the initial press fails.
