MIKEY (Derby) · ZAIDO (Man City) · AZHAR (Man City) · SAVVY (Man City) · TROY (Man City) · YAAZO (Man City) · NICK (Man City) · JAMA (c) (Man City) · ADAM (Man City) · PROD (Man City) · DERCIO (Man City)Prioritizing defensive stability and quick transitions, this team utilizes a 5-3-2 formation. The lineup is built to absorb pressure and hit opponents on the break, using a heavy defensive block to deny space between the lines. This system relies on compact banks of players to protect the central areas before launching vertical attacks toward the strikers.
MIKEY operates between the posts to organize the back five. YAAZO sits at the heart of the defense to clear the lines and command the area. Beside him, DERCIO and ZAIDO form a sturdy central trio, with DERCIO acting as the right-sided center back and ZAIDO covering the left. The wide defenders, AZHAR and SAVVY, act as attacking wing backs who push high to provide width, while also tracking back to form a five-man line when the team sits deep.
The midfield operates as a three-man midfield with a carrier and creative elements. TROY and ADAM occupy the central roles, with TROY working to win the second ball and ADAM driving forward to carry the ball into the final third. NICK plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers, finding pockets of space to connect the midfield to the front line. This unit works to compress the midfield, ensuring that opponents cannot play through the center easily.
In the attacking phase, the team uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition. JAMA, the captain, leads the line and works to link up play with PROD. JAMA uses his movement to pin the last defender, creating space for PROD to make runs in behind. When the team wins the ball high up the pitch, the attackers press from the front to force a long ball, allowing the defense to regain possession and restart the attack.
One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads from overlapping wing backs like SAVVY and AZHAR. By pushing them high, the team can pin the opposition wingers back and force them to defend deep. Another strength is the compactness when defending, which makes it very difficult for opponents to find gaps in the central zones.
The 5-3-2 formation provides a robust defensive foundation while maintaining the threat of a quick counter. It is best suited for matches against dominant teams that hold high possession, allowing the team to soak up pressure and strike with precision.
