It is a 4-4-1-1 Diamond. I believe Terry and Luiz should be at the centre. Ivanovic should be at full back as he can be an extra help in set pieces which is why I picked him over Bosingwa. Sturridge should be paired with Torres as he is quick, has good passing dribbling and creativity and can be a massive aid for Torres. He can also be a player available for Torres' passes. McEachran and Malouda's speed will be essential. They along with Ivanovic and Cole should help in overlapping opponent full backs and stop overlapping at the defensive end which is why McEachran is on Ivanovic's side as he is a more reliable player defensively while Ivanovic is less reliable than Cole which is also why Malouda is at Cole's end. At that flank Chelsea will be strong offensively but exposed to overlapping because of Cole and Malouda's attack more defend less ambitions. But, Cole is not a major worry the worry is Malouda. His lack of will to defend has been demonstrated in almost every match he's played and has cost Chelsea goals. Mata is at the heart of all our offensive abilities at his favourite place. So is Sturridge at his favourite place. Meireles can be good at RM/LM because of his creativity, Lampard can also play to replace McEachran or Malouda. He will be more useful if Drogba also plays as he has the ability to just lob the ball up to Drogba and hope Drogba does well. Alex is really of no use. He has constantly displayed sloppy defending and it really doesn't matter if Terry prefers him, if we give Terry and Luiz a run of games they will be fine together. Romeu has displayed the true definition of a holding midfielder so he should stay. Lampard/Meireles can replace Malouda in a game in which Chelsea want more defensive reliability but Meireles does have more creativity than Lampard. McEachran and Malouda should be MR/ML not MCR/MCL. The defensive line should be deeper as Chelsea are struggling to keep up with it. The formation above allows Andre Villas-Boas to continue his attacking philosophy efficently. Thank you.
