If Arsene Wenger signs up New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry on a two-month loan deal in January, then Henry would be back at the Emirates.

Before joining Arsenal in 1999, he had been a winger at Juventus before Wenger converted him into a powerful forward. The Frenchman left for Barcelona in summer 2007.

With Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh at the Africa Cup of Nations, Wenger has only Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott as decent attacking options and, although Henry is 34, he still has the magic, Wenger has insisted. He knows van Persie well, having played with him at the Gunners.
