France's starting line-up for the 1998 World Cup final at the Stade de France in Paris. They defeated Brazil 3-0 that day, Zinedine Zidane being the hero that day, scoring two goals before Emanuel Petit scored the final goal for the French. Although Marcel Desailly was given an early bath in the victory, France dominated a off-the form Brazil side, who were defending their crown having won it in 1994 in the United States. It was France's biggest celebration since the 1944 liberation, as 12 July 1998 is a famous date in French football history.
