Dream Team Football Formation

Creation DateFebruary 8, 2012

Lineup (4-4-2)

Ubaldo Fillol · Lothar Matthaus · Alberto Tarantini · Gaetano Scirea · Roberto Carlos · Fernando Redondo · David Beckham · Roberto Rivelinho · Enzo Francescoli · Diego Maradona · Claudio Caniggia

So Up front the fastest footballer ever, Caniggia in the centre forward position to make a mockery of the offside rule, he was super skilled as well. Then just behind him in more of a playmaking Number 10 position the greatest Maradona to set up and score goals. This duo was crazy effective and then in this team they have the attacking midfielder Enzo to provide them with lots of quality ball and go for goal if he wants as well with his amazing shot. Then on the left winger, Rivelinho another attacking weapon and great playmaker. On the right, David Beckham playing a more balanced role to provide crosses etc. but also to help out in midfield and defence and score a few goals. Then the midfield stopper, Redondo, playing a sort of midfield libero as he's great at tackling and passing and shooting. Then at left wing back Roberto Carlos of course to defend and then attack. At centre back there is Tarantini simply because he is the most determined player and would be able to cope if he found himself alone at the back. Matthaus and Scirea are somewhat interchangeable with one playing centre right defender and the other libero, with both players being great at both positions. Then the goalie, Maradona said he is the greatest he ever saw so that is good enough for me, Fillol.
So This formation would have endless oppurtunitys to attack the goal from every which where on the pitch while having a solid defense due to the defensive players and the defensive midfielder able to interchange with each other when a player wants to go attack. The side would be able to do everything, they would counter attack well or just outright beat the opponents.
To me this is the perfect formation. It just works so well in my mind, no matter the quality of players used.
