It suits these players very well as it gives defensive cover with Gibson and Fellaini, but also a very strong attacking line led by Jelavic. Gives space for runs from Pienaar and Naismith and also from the full-backs Hibbert and Baines. Also Jelavic and Naismith have good chemistry from their Rangers days as do Fellaini and Mirallas from playing for Belgium. If under pressure Naismith can drop back and let the 2 defensive mids to push out wider a bit to make 2 defensive lines.
