This is the only formation that fits RVP, Rooney, Kagawa into a team with their comfortable position. Some may argue Kagawa should be playing behind the striker, but he can also do what Silva does for Man City. He can interchange with Rooney and RVP and cause havoc for the opposing team. As for my midfield selection, Fletcher is probably United's best sweeper (although Carrick is good as well). I put Cleverley in the other DM position because Scholes is aging, Carrick - Fletcher would be too defensive, and Anderson is simply not good enough.
