Lineup (5-4-1)

DDG · Evans · Vidic · Ferdinand · Evra · Rafael · Rooney · Kagawa · Young · Valencia · van Persie

This is a very fierce formation that puts a lot of pressure in the box by making the most of United's wingers and sheer shooting power and precision. All the attack is strong and there are no slow passing plays involved.

Three players (Vidic, Ferdinand, Evans) are there for a solid defense to handle counter attacks (if any).
Rafael and Evra are also very good defenders but they play a very important role in attacking (in the wings). Having those 3 defenders behind lets Rafael and Evra play upfront for more time and majorly contribute to the offence.

van Persie is a very experienced player and therefore is a major threat to the opponents if he concentrates his skills into the box (stay in the box during attacks). A whole lot of defenders will need to be inside the box to handle RVP thus making it easier to shoot from outside the box.

Valencia and Young will be the main wingers. Both are excellent at crossing the ball into the box and players like RVP and Rooney are 100% capable of heading the ball in with pin-point accuracy.

Young has the rare talent of being able to curve the ball (towards the left) more than most people could possibly imagine. He being a right-winger and a right footer, can easily target the top-right corner of the goal post and score a goal from outside or from the outer-end of the box (as seen before).

Kagawa and Rooney are very good with their touches and finishes. Both have got speed and powerful (yet accurate) shots. They are capable of scoring mind boggling goals from outside the box.

LONG THINGS SHORT - United in every possible way will be either striking the ball from far towards the goal or crossing the ball into the box. Both ways the pressure on the box will be too intense for the opponents to handle.
