Lineup (4-2-3-1)

Mannone · Vermaelen · Mertersacker · Sagna · Santos · Coquelin · Arteta · Wilshere · Walcott · Cazorla · Podolski

For the Arsenal v Manchester United game on 3rd November 2012, and from looking at the available squad, this formation seems like the logical choice for the following reasons.

People say Vermaelen should play down the left, but I feel he's far more effective in the middle, and since Koscielny can't play down the left... it only leaves Santos.

For the midfield, it seemed logical to keep Arteta at the back, sweeping up, and a dedicated holding midfielder in Coquelin up against the attack-heavy Man Utd,

Wilshere would be ideal centrally up front as the playmaker, due to his wondrous balls (I'm talking football, nothing else) and more opportunity to keep his stamina no as heavily used. If not, I'm sure Arteta could switch effectively with Jack. I felt Cazorla this time should take the Left (because he can), and Walcott on the right for pace abuse and some good crosses.

Podolski upfront as the point man because he's fully capable to do so and fantastic from far or near.

I think these options would be ideal with Premier League experienced players who are fully capable as well as position comfortable, and ready to play. Also, it's a bit of a change from how Wenger has become predictable in formation, and has had a great team easier to defend against for it.

Subs: Martinez (GK), Koscielny, Jenkinson, Frimpong (if match fit)/Gnabry, Ramsey, Arsharvin, Gervinho, Giroud
