Liverpool Football Formation

Lineup (4-2-3-1)

After thinking it through for quite some time, I finally came up with my LFC Starting XI for 2012/2013 Season.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Assaidi is a right-footed player and thus I allocated him at the left wing so that he would be able to cut in and take shots at goal. (The same goes for Suso, who is left-footed and playing in the right wing.)

When LFC have possession of the ball, Wisdom and Downing would move upfield to join up with the other 5 midfielders (Gerrard, Assaidi, Suso, Lucas and Allen). That way, there would be 7 players playing in the midfield and LFC would be able to better maintain their ball possession and try to break the opponent's defence.

When LFC is defending, Lucas and Allen would move backwards and join up with the 4 defenders (Downing, Skrtel, Agger and Wisdom). LFC will then have 6 people playing in defensive roles which would increase their chances of tackling the ball from the opponents and creating a counter attack.

In summary, the formation I created is to further improve LFC's ball possession as well as create more goal-scoring opportunities.
