Manchester United Formation 2013

Manchester United Football Formation

Creation DateMarch 4, 2013

Lineup (4-2-3-1)

de Gea · Hummels · Garay · Evra · Rafael · Wanyama · Strootman · Rooney · Kagawa · Valencia · van Persie

David de Gea is the goalkeeper, even though he has been inconsistent. I believe he is a goalie with plenty of potential, and has only recently adjusted to the Premier League. I have placed Evra at left back, even though he is getting old, I still think he is a better player than Buttner at the moment, and it is not worth bringing in another player such as Baines or Shaw. Rafael has greatly improved in the 2012/13 season and deserves to once again be the starting right back. Hummels and Garay are reliable centre-backs with lots of potential. Wanyama is a good central defensive midfielder who can also play at centre-back. Strootman is the box-to-box midfielder that Manchester United have been missing, and would be very effective as one of the men in the two-man pivot of the 4-2-3-1 formation. Valencia is shifted onto the right wing, whereas Kagawa has been brought in a little bit, as he is not an complete winger, but rather a left-sided playmaker. The prescence of Rooney and van Persie is not surprising. On the whole, this team, with the likes of Jones, Carrick, Young, Chicarito, Welbeck and the rest of the Manchester United cast can be an even stronger team in the 2013/14 season. This team is unstoppable. Also, if Ronaldo was brought in, it would push either Valencia or Kagawa onto the bench, but I do not see Man Utd. pursuing him, not just yet.
