Matuidi has frequently filled in at RB when in defensive positioning 4-4 (ex. Valencia). More responsibility for Sakho and Alex on the left side.

See if Lucas can cut inside with the ball from his opposition position (naturally right footed), and could feed Ibrahimovic's stronger foot better than Lavezzi or Pastore has been on the left. Pastore back in his natural position, utilising his short passing ability. Lavezzi has been ineffective as a 'tweener on the left side. Either take a chance switching him over or start Gameiro, who has been a consistent spark off the bench.

For the second leg against Barca -- Lucas on the left is a better solo matchup against Dani Alves than out-of-position Pastore. Pastore is naturally in better attacking position, especially when Pique and the fourth-choice CB are challenged with numbers. Lavezzi poses a bigger threat to Jordi Alba than Dani Alves due to his skill set. And Matuidi has shown the IQ to fill in the rush properly.
