well VDB is used to not having an attacker upfront, and 4-6-0 is the usual lineup for spain , but i think this formation will be better defensively, and offensively,
because of the presence of alonso who defends well and can also play amazing long balls,
and of course having fast , quality wingbacks like alba , and carvajal instead of arbeloa means that the wing backs can contribute to attack and defence,
and with the 3 centre backs , ramos can also move up and contribute to the attack as he is well known for , without opening up the defence thanks to the experienced puyol and pique,
having the left legged silva and the right legged iniesta on the wings means that they will have 2 options either move into the centre of the box or play a through ball to one of the running wing backs who plays with the opposite leg giving the opportunity for a cross in
with fabregas the closest player to an attacker being on the pitch we all saw that he fits in the centre forward role perfectly as he played when messi was injured, so he can attack with iniesta and silva , or even play the amazing passes to them if one happens to run in, and one thing i would like to see is fabregas playing the disruptor role in the opponents midfield, as many national teams and clubs are learning that the beginning of the attack comes from the back of the midfield where the likes of alonso and pirlo dwell and suddenly throw in a dangerous pass , strikers have added a new job to the list of roles they play one being a disruptive attacker disrupting these deep lying playmakers like what mandzukic does in bayern for example, and maybe if fabregas cannot get the job done he could be replaced by torres , or even mata.
the only things that im not sure about in this formation is in the javi martinez spot , if he,xavi,or busquets should start
xavi could add an attacking threat , and maybe the 3 centrebacks could keep themselves secure
but maybe busquests or martinez , both amazing in the defensive midfield should play to add security and as we know these players are vital to their teams busquets to barca and martinez to bayern munich
