As Milner and Baines have done throughout their season.the two central midfielders Carrick and Wilshere will be the work horses in the team as they both have great work rates and are very good at finding a pass and being creative. Gerrard would be my attacking midfielder as he has a lot of experience and has had one of his best seasons this year playing in this position assisting the strikers. Rooney would play just behind Sturridge because he suits this role better has he can hold the ball up and find a good pass. This gives Sturridge the freedom to make his intelligent runs and be a poacher. This formation provides width and also allows the midfielders to keep possession of the football and make the other team chase the ball.
