This match was a big face-off between traditional Latin American rivals, the big giants of Football, Brazil and Argentina. Evidently both the teams were eager to win the Cup, and establish their superiority. And obviously the fact that Brazil was the defending World Champion would mean very little, if they lose to Argentina, as the pride at stake is up at the extreme level.

The 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup Final was a football match to determine the winners of the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup. The match was held at Waldstadion, Frankfurt, Germany, on 29 June 2005 and was contested by Brazil and Argentina. Brazil won the match 4–1.

2 Goals from a brilliant Adriano, and one each from Kaká and Ronaldinho; completed a 4 goal rout for Brazil against Argentina, while Pablo Aimar managed one consolation Goal for Argentina. Brazil thus, re-established their superiority, as Argentina realised the might of the brilliant Brazilians.
