About this formation
Mullins and Mokoena are very good defensive mids and work well together. Nugent can cut inside and take a shot if no one else is in space and the same applies to Cotterill. Verratti has speed and can get passed defenders with ease.
Rocha and Halford are great defenders, Halford has height and Rocha has good tackling ability, while Hreidarsson adds experience to the defensive line. De Laet has good speed and links up well with Cotterill.
Ashdown is a superb keeper, who is unfortunately underrated. He is a good keeper who puts in 110% every game for Portsmouth and deserves more recognition.
Kitson works well on his own and has a height advantage over defenders, so he can go up for corners. He also has a bit of strength and on occasion brushes past defenders and scores 75% of the time.
