Liverpool Football Formation
Lineup (3-4-3)
Reina · Carra · Agger · Kelly · Cissokho · Johno · Gerrard · Meireles · Suarez · Young · CarrolThis would be a 5-2-3 that converts to a 3-4-3 when in attack.
Carrager would act as sweeper, and use the pace of Kelly and Agger as cover against quick CF's. Also, the ball playing abilities of Agger and Kelly would allow us to keep possession, and build attacks from the back.
Johnson and Cissokho would be instructed to get forward on the overlap and play in crosses for Carrol to finish or knockdown for Young and Suarez to latch onto. However, they would need to understand that only one of them can push all the past the midfielders at any given time.
Gerrard would be instructed to sit deep and distribute the ball around the pitch. With the pace of Suarez and Young, the oppositions fullbacks would be pinned back, and this should allow Stevie to find Big Andy's feet, release Meieres through the center, or find Johnson/Cissokho on the overlap out wide.
Meireles would be the box-to-box midfielder, and would push forward to support the forwards and latch onto balls that pop out around the edge of the box. He has a wicked long shot and would be certain to score some nasty goals!
Carrol would play as a traditional target man CF.... hold the ball up, bring teammates into the attack, and lurk in the box to finish or knock the ball down for Suarez, Young, or Meireles to latch onto.
