Since P. Fonseca was chose as FC Porto coach we have been seeing a change of game system. In the past, Victor Fernandez, Jesualdo, André Villas-Boas and Vítor Pereira chose de 4x3x3 (with the midfilders in 1+1+1) and with Paulo the team change de system to 4x3x3 (midfilders in 2+1), that system don't make the team more defensive but makes the team be more faster in attacking organization. Porto, since AVB, had a possession culture inspired on Guardiola's Barcelona, a team that had 65% (more/less) medium in a season, with Paulo, Porto takes a constrution more faster, with long balls to the striker (Jackson) and that culture of possession is being more and more outdated to an transisions model, where the speed of the players is crucial.
The team I chose to against Zenit, on tuesday, is a team that should be back to origins, to the 4x3x3 used by AVB or Vítor Pereira and that culture of possession should be alive again, to Porto get the controll of their marches again. Herrera is the midfilder more similar to Moutinho, and Lucho should be closer to 2º and 3º phase of constrution and not only in last pass/finalization phase, should be closer to Herrera and Fernando to move the ball and don't lose possession plus it makes the team be more balance not only in the defensive moment but in the ofensive moment, the right and left back should give the depth and the right and left wing be closer Jackson.
With this Porto will be closer to be a better team and give to the supporters what they really want, a good team!
