PODENSE operates as an attacking wing back on the left flank to provide width, whereas FORTOUNIS covers the right side to support the defensive unit. These defenders must stay disciplined, keeping a narrow defensive block to deny central penetration and ensuring they stay close together to minimize gaps.

The midfield operates in a flat four to shield the defense and control the middle third.
