Starting Lineup

Pudding · Aidn · Gabz · Zent · Mayo · Gurgen · Dao · Shinra · Thugshaker · Rimuru · Elijah

Barcelona looks to control the tempo of every match through a heavy emphasis on possession in a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to dominate the middle of the pitch and use short passing to move opponents out of position. By pushing so many bodies forward, the team seeks to pin the opposition back and maintain constant pressure in the final third.

Elijah stays behind a very high defensive line to act as a sweeper behind the two central defenders. Thugshaker and Rimuru operate as a compact pair, focusing on intercepting long balls and starting the build up play from the back. Because there are only two dedicated defenders, they must stay tight to avoid being split by through balls, often requiring them to step up and engage attackers early.

The midfield is a massive engine room that provides both cover and service. Mayo and Gurgen form a double pivot to shield the back line and recycle possession when the game gets congested. Ahead of them, Shinra acts as a carrier to drive the team forward through the center. Dao and Zent operate in the half spaces as advanced midfielders who look to create chances, while the central trio works to keep the ball moving through the thirds.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the defence. Pudding acts as the focal point, holding up the ball to allow others to join the attack. Gabz and Aidn stay wide to provide width, with Gabz looking to cut inside to create space for the overlapping midfield runners. This attacking unit works to create combinations in tight spaces and pull the opposition defenders out of their zones.

A primary advantage for Barcelona is the numerical superiority in midfield, which makes it very difficult for opponents to win the second ball. The formation also creates wide overloads when Dao or Zent push forward to support the wingers. This high density of players in the middle allows the team to quickly switch play and find the attackers in dangerous positions.

This 2-5-3 formation is designed for total dominance through ball retention and high pressure. It is best suited for matches where the team faces a low block and needs to break down a compact defensive unit.
