The midfield functions with a three-man midfield with a carrier. M. peña acts as the single pivot to shield the defence and sit in front of the back three. E. López and D.murcia operate as the two interior midfielders. E. López and D.murcia must press aggressively to win the ball high and connect the defensive and attacking lines. When the team loses possession, they drop back to compress the midfield and ensure the team remains compact.

Honduras utilizes two forwards in a partnership to lead the attack. M.lemuz and J. peña work together to pressure the opposition back line. Instead of staying static, they look to play one-two combinations to break the line. The attackers often pull wide to stretch the defence or look for runs in behind to exploit the space left by advancing opponents. They must hold up the ball to allow the wing backs and midfielders to join the advance.
