Independiente del Valle aims to control the tempo through a heavy emphasis on ball retention and high pressing in a 4-3-3. This formation is built to dominate the ball and squeeze the space in the opponent half. By using this lineup, the team seeks to dictate the rhythm of the game through constant ball movement and aggressive positioning.

D. Azcona operates as the goalkeeper, acting as the first point of contact when the team plays out from the back. The defense works as a flat back four, with Núñez acting as the right back to provide width. On the left, E. Tellechea moves forward to support the attack, while A. Mina and L. Caicedo occupy the center. A. Mina acts as a ball playing defender to help progress the ball, while L. Caicedo focuses on covering and making sure the defensive line holds. The unit works together to maintain a high line and win the ball back quickly.

The midfield functions as a three man midfield with a carrier. M. Rizotto sits in a single pivot role to shield the defense and win the second ball. Ahead of him, J. Orejuela works to connect the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball forward. J. Sornoza plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to create through the lines and find the feet of the attackers. This trio allows Independiente del Valle to control the center of the pitch and transition from defense to attack with speed.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers across the front. E. Angulo leads the line as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition back line. On the flanks, J. Angulo and B. Cabezas act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring chances. This movement creates space for the full backs to overlap and provides central presence for through balls. The forwards look to combine in tight spaces and create runs in behind the defense during transitions.

One major strength of this lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opponent. The team also gains numerical superiority in midfield when J. Sornoza pushes higher, allowing the side to control possession. Another advantage is the width provided by the full backs, which helps to stretch the defence and create one on one situations for the wingers.

This 4-3-3 formation allows the team to maintain control through high ball retention and intense pressure. It is best suited for games against opponents that try to play out from the back and struggle under physical pressure.
