Starting Lineup

Garcia · Vitor · Luís · Davi · Henrique · VT Gabriel · Lucas · Diogo · Rhuan · Giu · Felipe

América (MG) focuses on a high press and verticality through a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move quickly toward the opposition goal. The team looks to use wide areas to stretch the opposition while maintaining a strong presence in the center of the park.

Garcia acts as the last line of defense in goal. The back line functions as a flat back four with Davi playing as a right back and Henrique operating at left back. Both wide defenders are expected to push up to support the attack. In the center, Vitor and Luís form the defensive pair, where they must hold the line and defend zonally to prevent through balls. This unit works to keep the defensive line high to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch.

The midfield relies on a single pivot system to control the center. VT Gabriel plays as the defensive midfielder to shield the defense and pick up runners. Beside him, Diogo and Lucas act as two central midfielders who connect the defensive and attacking lines. Diogo is tasked to drive forward with the ball, while Lucas looks to find the feet of the striker and play through the lines. This three man midfield is designed to recycle possession and quickly switch play to the wings.

The attacking line uses three attackers across the front to pressure the opposition back line. Rhuan leads the line as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball from the defenders. On the flanks, Giu and Felipe operate as wide wingers who hug the touchline to provide width. Giu looks to cut inside to create chances, while Felipe aims to get to the byline and deliver early crosses. These players work to create runs in behind and isolate wide players in one on one situations.

América (MG) gains a tactical advantage through their ability to press high in coordinated waves. This creates pressure on the goalkeeper and forces mistakes in the build up phase. The lineup also offers speed of transition, allowing the team to catch the opponent out of position once the ball is won. By using the width of Giu and Felipe, the team can also create wide overloads to overwhelm the defensive unit.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on intensity to dominate the ball and attack with pace. It is best suited for games where the team can exploit an opponent that struggles to play out from the back.
